“A meteorite has struck somewhere in the neighborhood of Kruunupyy. Jonas First saw it pass the Snell’s factory in Granholmen in Pietarsaari.
- It was a meteorite, I am hundred percent sure, says First, active in Katternö Skywatchers.
The meteorite lit green and the Principal estimates that it passed at about 200 meters towards Kruunupyy. It was then 17:13.
- I have never seen a meteor passing in such a low speed before. It kept the same speed as a bird about.
The meteorite was the size of an orange, and if the meteorite had crashed in the forest means Principal that the chances of finding the crash site is very small.
Samuli Seppänen Vuori stood on the bridge with a friend on the outside Nyhamn Öja when they saw the meteorite in the sky.
- The traveling low down on the sky at high speed in the direction west to east. Then it disappeared behind the trees.
A few minutes later heard the other currently a bang. Around the clock 19 estimated Seppä Vuori that they had seen the phenomenon for approximately one and a half hour ago.
An anonymous whistle-blowers in Lappfors heard a bang sometime between the hours of 17 and 17.30.
- It sounded like an airplane breaks the sound barrier. A sort of muffled roar. I can not tell from which direction the sound came.
Mats Östman in Tennessee saw a fireball pass directly over his empty around the clock 17:40. It all happened so quickly that he did not he shoot the event. After about ten minutes, he heard a bang from Kruunupyy fence, followed by noise for a minute.”
